Class I of the Cadet Service would consist of seven

super-scale posts, viz:-

The DfE and the

Principal Assistant Colonial Secretary.

The Secretary for Chinese Affairs.

Chief Assistant Secretary for Chinese

Affairs.

Superintendent of Imports and Exports.

Chairman Urban District Council.

Postmaster General.

Senior Assistant Colonial Treasurer.

Following the practice adopted in other

cases the Schedule to the Special Regulations of the

Colonial Administrative Service should be amended in the

case of Hong Kong where it now reads:-

Colonial Secretary.

Cadet Officer" to include the above

seven posts by name in addition to the post of Colonial

Secretary and to substitute

"Cadet Officer Class II.

for "Cadet Officer"

The omission from the List of the

post of Director of Education and First Police Magistrate would not mean that the officers hold" those posts if they

are Police Officers and will cease to be members of the

Colonial Administrative Service; but merely on the

occurrence of vacancies, the posts will be recognised as

posts which are not normally filled by members of that

Service. No doubt they will be included in due course

in the Schedules of the Colonial Education Service and the

Colonial Legal Service respectively.
